A small team of renowned educators led by the appointed School Director are creating a cohesive, structured, integrated and challenging curriculum based on the Cambridge International Curriculum leading to International General Certificate of Secondary Education ( IGCSE/AS/A level) incorporating important aspects of the British National Curriculum. Throughout the school, the Ministry of Education Arabic, Religon and Social Studies curricula are taught.
The school building is situated on Street 55, off Street 77, 2nd District, Fifth Settlement, Katameya. Currently, it is being remodelled to allow for the use of both well tried teaching techniques and effective modern facilities. A high quality stimulating, secure and happy learning environment is guaranteed.
When I was still quite young, I would visit the Gulf English School in Kuwait and walk around the classes and attend the special events. I remember thinking to myself that one day, my dream was to emulate all the special people I looked up to, especially my Mother. It was not lost on me that hard work, long hours, dedication and genuine emotion went into every word, action and successful outcome.
As a result of the occupation in 1990 we left Kuwait as a family and started our lives over again here in Cairo. We established Modern English School Cairo which has flourished successfully for over a quarter of a century.
When the opportunity recently arose for us to start a new school together with the educationally-renowned Kuwaiti Al-Sayegh family, the Gulf English School Cairo was the logical choice for us all. In tribute to the name and legacy built all those years ago, and in promising to maintain the prominent quality of the name, we chose GES Cairo.
I believe that establishing a school must be an act of love, built on a strong educational foundation and realized with commitment, perseverance and devotion. This is exactly the basis upon which this dream has become a reality. You will find amongst us a balance between excellence in education and the recognition and honouring of our national culture and heritage.
Welcome to the Gulf English School Cairo Family!
Education reform is crucial for the progress of Our Homeland (الوطن) Being a firm believer in this notion, I perceive quality education as a central means in the definition of our identity, the recognition of our culture and traditions and a safeguard of our heritage and glorious history.
GES Cairo, aims to promote values and attributes that qualify the learners to make a difference in the local and global society. We believe that the essence of education does not rely only on books studied or grades achieved but also on developing independent learners who are responsible for their own learning, who think and respect others views and can bring the change they believe in.
We at GES Cairo are privileged to have the support of exemplary leaders in Education: Mrs Sawsan Dajani, Chairperson of Modern English School Cairo , Ms Ghada Dajani, Managing Director of Modern English School Cairo and Gulf English School Cairo, Mr. Mohamed El Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Egyptian Education System and Mr. Peter Godfrey, Gulf English School Cairo Educational Consultant .
With great pride, we announce the launching of GES Cairo in September 2018 and we are thrilled to welcome you to 'A Family of Learning '
